Bientôt l’été has been selected for IndieCade in Culver City, Los Angeles, USA. You will be able to play the game-in-progress at the festival from 4 to 7 October. We will also briefly present it at the conference during the Project Next session on Sunday at 3 pm.
81 notes link >I got the latest issue of W magazine in the mail today, and this editorial (photographed by legendary fashion photographer, Steven Meisel) immediately caught my eye:
Look familiar? Maybe this will jog your memory…
No mistake - that fashion spread was clearly inspired by the character select screen in Tale of Tales’ 2009 adventure/horror game, The Path. Guess they figured nobody who reads W would play video games… right?? It’s a pretty awesome spread, though.
A new alpha build of Bientôt l’été has been released.
It is available to anyone who has preordered or who preorders now.
The game is still tentatively scheduled for release in October. Daily updates on the development blog will keep you abreast of how things are going.
The alpha version of Bientôt l’été will be featured in Lunarcade among a remarkable selection of games, curated by Bryan Ma with Pietro Righi Riva and Nicolò Tedeschi around the theme of spatial narrative.
SPATIAL NARRATIVE is a collection of works that experiment with exploration. They let us probe game worlds with minimalist or avant garde landscapes, engage in experimental storytelling in a virtual space, and negotiate physical and social play in the ‘real world’.
Other pieces on display include
Dear Esther – TheChineseRoom
J.S. Joust – Die Gute Fabrik
Lifeless Planet – Stage 2 Studios
Memory of a Broken Dimension – XRA
Thirty Flights of Loving – Brendon Chung
TRIP – Axel Shokk
Zobeide – Robert Yang
The exhibition takes place in Serial Space, 33 Wellington Street, Chippendale NSW 2008, Sydney, Australia.
Next Tuesday, 10 July 2012, we will be in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, presenting at the Imaging The Future Symposium that takes place during the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival.
Bientôt l’été will be released in the fall but you can already pre-order now!
Pre-ordering gives you early access to alpha builds of the videogame. We want to hear your comments on these builds to help improve the game for all. So by pre-ordering you get to see our work before anybody else and a chance to influence our design. Also included in the pre-order is music by Walter Hus that you can already listen to now. And who knows what else we will pamper our most dedicated audience with!
